Speaker Bios: 


Ramana Rameswaran 


Ramana is a healthcare regulatory and transactional associate at Katten Muchin Rosenman. He started practicing as an in-house lawyer at Temple University Health System and then moved to the law firm world. He has practiced at two AmLaw 200 firms before coming to Katten. Ramana's clients span the health care and pharmaceutical industries, and include hospitals and health systems, physician organizations, medical device suppliers and manufacturers, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies. Ramana currently serves in the ABA Health Law Section as a young lawyer representative and member of the governing council. 



Monique N. Bhargava


Monique Bhargava is a partner in the Advanced Media & Technology Group at Loeb & Loeb. Monique counsels brands, advertising agencies, and media and technology companies in all aspects of advertising, marketing, data privacy, new media and intellectual property law. Armed with practical and business-minded solutions, she helps clients across a broad spectrum of industries to achieve their goals while navigating legal risks. Data privacy and security is another area of concentration for Ms. Bhargava, particularly where these issues intersect with advertising and marketing practices, such as online, mobile and cross-device data collection and use, targeted advertising, and the use of data for marketing analytics. She helps clients comply with domestic and international privacy laws, including assessing data security, privacy and use practices, and developing privacy/security policies, and advising on implementation and strategy. Ms. Bhargava also counsels clients on legal issues surrounding new technology and media, such as e-commerce, mobile marketing, social media and user-generated content. She earned her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology (neurobiology emphasis) from UC Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of Illinois – College of Law.



Tejas Shah


Tejas Shah is an immigration partner at Barnes and Thornburg in Chicago, IL, where he counsels and represents research institutions, higher education institutions, employers, nonprofits, and school districts in a wide range of immigration matters. He also represents individuals in family-based and naturalization matters and works with investors and start-ups. Tejas maintains a healthy pro bono practice through the Indo-American Center of Chicago, the National Immigrant Justice Center and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services. Tejas is a former President of SABA Chicago and the current VP of Community Outreach for SABA North America




 Shekar Jayaraman

Attorney Shekar Jayaraman, Esq., LL.M. has a multi-faceted background of both public and private sector experience. He is passionate, zealous, and detail oriented. Notably, Attorney Jayaraman was a Judicial Clerk for a United States Magistrate, with a heavy focus on violent crimes.  He earned an LL.M. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in Business and Corporate Governance, and has served under the Ohio Secretary of State as a Regional Liaison,  handling Business Services and Elections. While in law school, Attorney Jayaraman was selected as an Extern for a United States Magistrate for the summer after his first year, and was selected as a Fellow for the prestigious Janet D. Steiger Fellowship for the summer after his second year, concentrating primarily on Consumer Protection issues.  He served as his law school’s Student Bar Association President, and placed first in his law school’s annual Alternative Dispute Resolution competition while in his first year.

Licensed to practice in Illinois, Attorney Jayaraman is confident that his educational background, federal clerkship experience, and overall life experiences will make him an excellent advocate for your legal needs.
