SAWAN is a group of women attorneys who practice law in the private and public sectors as well as in alternative fields. SAWAN provides a forum to exchange information, foster professional relationships, and support career development.
Contact your local chapter of the South Asian Bar Association to find out about SAWAN gatherings nationwide that are open to attorneys and law students. The gatherings are designed to be mentoring circles to advance the careers of South Asian women attorneys. Issues we aim to address include the partner track, public office, judicial positions, academia, time management, volunteerism, civic engagement, social justice, glass ceiling, and more.
