The mission of the SABA North America’s Public Interest Committee (“PIC”) is to promote public interest work, and advocate with public, private, and non-governmental bodies around issues that affect SABA North America members and the South Asian community-at-large. The PIC serves as a forum for networking and professional development for SABA North America members interested in public interest issues. The PIC develops and disseminates public legal, legislative and policy positions to related to civil rights, civil liberties, human rights, worker rights and other public interest related issues that affect the South Asian community.
Public Interest Summer Fellowship

The SABA North America Public Interest Summer Fellowship will provide a stipend of up to $3,000 each to two selected Fellowship recipients. This funding will enable two law students to work full-time at a public interest legal organization during the summer of 2016. The goal of this fellowship is to support the commitment of South Asian American legal professionals in the public interest arena.
