SABA Lobby Day 2018

  • SABA North America is proud to announce its 2nd Lobby Day taking place on March 21st, 2018. Members of SABA North America come together to discuss legislation affecting South Asians in the United States. Attendees will meet with key Members of Congress and their staffs and will be provided important information regarding critical issues such as racial profiling and access to counsel. 
  • Lobby Day is an opportunity for legislators and their staff to hear directly from us. It allows you to educate your elected members about the issues that affect your careers and unite with other SABA members.

  • Attendees will need to be available for BOTH Mandatory Training sessions taking place on March 20th-21st
  • Tuesday March 20th, 2018: 4:00 pm-7:00 pm

              - Mandatory Training Session I

              - In preparation for meetings, training will consist of in depth discussions of relevant legislation and discussions of SABA North America's legislative agenda. 

  • Wednesday March 21st, 2018: 8:00 am- 10:00 am

               - Mandatory Training Session II 

               - Continued training in preparation for meetings and participants will receive Lobby Day assignments. 

  • Wednesday March 21st, 2018: 10:00 am- 4:30 pm 

               - Meetings will take place on the Hill

  • Wednesday March 21st, 2018: 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm

                - Cocktail Reception (Subject to change)



  • 20 grants available for those outside of the Washington, DC area that require financial assistance to help cover transportation and hotel costs.
  • Apply as early as possible, applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
