The Business Law Section is comprised of attorneys whose practices or responsibilities involve U.S. and international business law matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financings, capital markets, hedge, private equity, fund formations, venture capital and angel investments and startups, and related corporate, commercial and transactional practice areas.

Purpose

The South Asian corporate law community is growing and SABA North America’s members include attorneys at large domestic and international law firms, small and minority firms, solo practitioners, and multinational and domestic corporations and organizations.  The purposes of the Section would be to (1) serve as a networking group for SABA North America’s corporate and transactional attorneys to help with career growth, professional development and opportunities; (2) provide mentorship to more junior and future SABA corporate, commercial and transactional attorneys; (3) serve as an educational forum to exchange thoughts, ideas, best practices and reactions to the Practices, with some attention to international transactions and South Asian deal-making and cross-border issues and (4) increase networking among in-house counsel and outside counsel among corporate, commercial and transactional attorneys.  Finally, the Section would work on increasing the pipeline of SABA law students in the Practices through outreach, mentoring, and local, regional, and national programming.
